by English author Eleanor Farjeon and is set
to a traditional Scottish Gaelic tune known as
"Bunessan" (it shares this tune with the 19th
century Christmas Carol "Child in the Manger")
It is often sung in children's services.
The hymn originally appeared in the second
edition of "Songs of Praise".♪...(published in
1931), to the tune 'Bunessan'.♪. . ., composed
in the Scottish Islands. In • Songs of Praise
Discussed •, the editor, Percy Dearmer, explains
that as there was need for a hymn to give thanks
for each day, English poet and children's author
Eleanor Farjeon had been "asked to make a poem
to fit the lovely Scottish tune. A slight
variation on the original hymn, also written by
Eleanor Farjeon, can be found in the form of a
poem contributed to the anthology "Children's
Bells", under Farjeon's new title "A Morning
Song (For the First Day of Spring)," published
by Oxford University Press in 1957.. . .
Writing credit for "Morning Has Broken" has
occasionally been erroneously attributed to
Cat Stevens, who popularised the song abroad.
The familiar piano arrangement on Stevens'
recording was composed and performed by Rick

Aunque era oriundo de Rochester,
en el estado de New Hampshire,
había nacido en Evanston, Illinois,
en los Estados Unidos, el 18 de
octubre del año 1973.
Jim, era maestro, y más tarde, se
profesionalizaría como periodista
(journalist) y foto-periodista.
Trabajaba como "free lance", para
una empresa de noticias americana,
"GlobalPost", hasta Que el día 22
de noviembre del año 2O12, fue
secuestrado, junto con otros dos
compañeros de trabajo, en la
provincia de Idlib, cerca de la
ciudad de Taftanaz, en el noroeste
de Siria, por un grupo de hombres
armados, perteneciente al "Estado
Islámico (ISIS), mientras cubría
la Guerra Civil del ya mencionado
país asiático. Jim era católico.
Un mes después de su secuestro,
los padres de Jim, denunciaron su
captura, tratando a su vez de llegar
a un buen término con sus captores,
para lograr su definitiva y felíz
liberación. Sin embargo, resultó
imposible rescatarlo; y el día 19
de agosto de 2O14, en las montañas
de Al Raqa, fue asesinado. A la luz
del día, y a manos de un verdugo
encapuchado del Isis...

tarde para una operación militar,

by English author Eleanor Farjeon and is set
to a traditional Scottish Gaelic tune known as
"Bunessan" (it shares this tune with the 19th
century Christmas Carol "Child in the Manger")
It is often sung in children's services.
The hymn originally appeared in the second
edition of "Songs of Praise".♪...(published in
1931), to the tune 'Bunessan'.♪. . ., composed
in the Scottish Islands. In • Songs of Praise
Discussed •, the editor, Percy Dearmer, explains
that as there was need for a hymn to give thanks
for each day, English poet and children's author
Eleanor Farjeon had been "asked to make a poem
to fit the lovely Scottish tune. A slight
variation on the original hymn, also written by
Eleanor Farjeon, can be found in the form of a
poem contributed to the anthology "Children's
Bells", under Farjeon's new title "A Morning
Song (For the First Day of Spring)," published
by Oxford University Press in 1957.. . .
Writing credit for "Morning Has Broken" has
occasionally been erroneously attributed to
Cat Stevens, who popularised the song abroad.
The familiar piano arrangement on Stevens'

Aunque era oriundo de Rochester,
en el estado de New Hampshire,
había nacido en Evanston, Illinois,
en los Estados Unidos, el 18 de
octubre del año 1973.
Jim, era maestro, y más tarde, se
profesionalizaría como periodista
(journalist) y foto-periodista.
Trabajaba como "free lance", para
una empresa de noticias americana,
"GlobalPost", hasta Que el día 22
de noviembre del año 2O12, fue
secuestrado, junto con otros dos
compañeros de trabajo, en la
provincia de Idlib, cerca de la
ciudad de Taftanaz, en el noroeste
de Siria, por un grupo de hombres
armados, perteneciente al "Estado
Islámico (ISIS), mientras cubría
la Guerra Civil del ya mencionado
país asiático. Jim era católico.
Un mes después de su secuestro,
los padres de Jim, denunciaron su
captura, tratando a su vez de llegar
a un buen término con sus captores,
para lograr su definitiva y felíz
liberación. Sin embargo, resultó
imposible rescatarlo; y el día 19
de agosto de 2O14, en las montañas
de Al Raqa, fue asesinado. A la luz
del día, y a manos de un verdugo
encapuchado del Isis...
...las fuerzas especiales envíadas
a Siria, por el Presidente Barack
Obama, infructuosamente, llegaron
tarde para una operación militar,
en la cual, iban a rescatar a Jim
Foley y otros estadounidenses Que
se encontraban como 'rehenes'...
