♦· What a memory this song has for me. I had been madly in love
wth a guy for years. He went to Vietnam and came back a
different person - didn't care about anything including me.
My heart was so broken. A few weeks later on a lark, my best
GF and I decided to go to the Jersey shore for 4th July
weekend. We walked around looking for a vacancy at the hotels
and there were none. I saw a guy sitting on a balcony at one
hotel and asked if there where any vacancies there and he
said no, but I'll help you look. He and his friend met us on
the sidewalk, got their car and drove us all around. He was
stunningly gorgeous. He got us a place to stay with some girls
from his neighborhood. He said I was the prettiest girl he
ever saw and that other guy I had been with must have been
out of his head to dis me. We married a year and a half later.
I do remember this song played a lot during the summer of '69
or thereabouts. Funny thing, but my old love, the Marine,
tended to show up everywhere he thought I might be including
the church the day I got married and for years later. Guess
he had his regrets. ·♦

♦· What a memory this song has for me. I had been madly in love
wth a guy for years. He went to Vietnam and came back a
different person - didn't care about anything including me.
My heart was so broken. A few weeks later on a lark, my best
GF and I decided to go to the Jersey shore for 4th July
weekend. We walked around looking for a vacancy at the hotels
and there were none. I saw a guy sitting on a balcony at one
hotel and asked if there where any vacancies there and he
said no, but I'll help you look. He and his friend met us on
the sidewalk, got their car and drove us all around. He was
stunningly gorgeous. He got us a place to stay with some girls
from his neighborhood. He said I was the prettiest girl he
ever saw and that other guy I had been with must have been
out of his head to dis me. We married a year and a half later.
I do remember this song played a lot during the summer of '69
or thereabouts. Funny thing, but my old love, the Marine,
tended to show up everywhere he thought I might be including
the church the day I got married and for years later. Guess
he had his regrets. ·♦

Al menos, los Que están en el 'candelero' (Aunque, quizás
no parezca). Tienen más exigencias & más compromisos que
los Que recién empiezan y luchan, y además, mantener una
'imágen'. . .
Algunos (los de mejor fortuna en la vida profesional),
"saben" sobrellevar el éxito & la fama, y todo lo que es
e implica ésto; otros, en cambio, indefectiblemente, caen
en el universo desdichado de la adicción a las drogas!!!,
de todo tipo & color; de todo peso & tamaño!, y al alcohol.
Convirtiéndose, de ésta manera, en marionetas desvalidas
del establishment del rock & su entorno deambulante...
Los británicos "Heads, Hands & Feet" estaban destinados :
'estar al borde del estrellato'; ó sea, tuvieron su cuarto
de hora. Sus quince minutos de fama, y luego, se diluyeron.
