♦♦♦·TONY LEWIS·♦♦♦.♪. . . ♦♦♦·HAZ QUE EL CÍRCULO NO SE ROMPA!·♦♦♦ ♦· 'Tony Lewis'.♪... ► el gran cantante y bajista de The Outfield falleció, de manera repentina, mientras se encontraba en su casa, cerca de Londres. Tony, había sido parte de un Power/Pop trio: THE OUTFIELD.♪ Todos eran ingleses, pero, con un sonido Americano!. A finales de los añoS '7O..., John Spinks, Tony Lewis & Alan Jackman, tocaban en una banda de Power/Pop llamada "Sirius B", tocando por unos cuantos meses, pero después, dejaron la banda debido a que su estilo no encajaba con el punk rock que en aquel momento y en Inglaterra, estaba creciendo masivamente. Años más tarde, el trío ya mencionado, se reagrupó en la zona este de Londres y pasaron a llamarse "The Baseball Boys". Tocaron algunas veces y grabaron algunos 'demos'...; enonces, llamaron la atención de los estadounidenses del sello de Columbia Records, y firmaron un contrato en 1984. Spinks había adoptado el nombre de una pandilla de adolescentes llamada: 'The Baseball Furies' del film de culto "The Warriors'. La banda ya tenía 'un sonido Americano', y ésta reputación hizo que su manager, un tipo que conocía el show/business del rock, un estadounidense les sugiriera cambiar de nombre. John Spinks dijo: "The Outfield fué el tipo de cosa más original; más izquierdista Que nos gustó".

En noviembre de 1985, The Outfield edita su primer LP: "Play Deep".♪...bajo la discográfica Columbia Records.♪ Producido por William Wittman, del exitoso vinilo dos canciones se extrajeron para editar en discos sencillos: "Say It Isn't So" (un regional hit! * un número 1., y "Your Love (un nº 1 a nivel internacional, en el año '86.) Luego, le siguieron otros dos: "Everytime You Cry" y "All the Love". El sol empezaba a brillar en lo alto!!! para John Spinks, Tony Lewis y Alan Jackman. Outfield empezaba a tocar ése Cielo, con sus propias manos!!!!! 'Play Deep' forma parte de la lista de los 1OO discos Que debés tener antes del fin del mundo, publicada por Sony Music en 2O12. Fué retitulado con el nombre de:
